Customer Rating: Summary: Sharp & to the Point Comment: X-Acto Electric Pencil Sharpener is great for heavy duty users. It sharpens pencils fast and does not break off the points within the chamber. Customer Rating: Summary: Good sharpener, but mine was defective. Comment: I think the blades in the sharpener I got are misaligned or out of sync somehow, because every pencil, regardless of brand or shape (round vs. hexagonal) gets a lopsided sharpening.
I'm sure this is probably something that could be fixed, and if I had wanted to, I could have gotten it replaced, but I'm lazy.
So far I sharpen for a little bit, pull the pencil out, turn it a little, let it sharpen some more, etc., and get an evenly sharpened pencil that way. It does sharpen to a nice point, and none of the other reviewers mention a defect like this, so I probably just got a bad sharpener. Customer Rating: Summary: X-cellent pencil sharpener Comment: Sleek and practical. Not too large. Sharpens very well. Only minor drawbacks are the cord (if you prefer batteries) and the small shrapnel dispenser. Other than that, I'm glad I picked this sharpener! Customer Rating: Summary: Disappointing! Comment: Before purchasing the X-Acto Electric Pencil Sharpener, I paid half the price for an electric sharpener from Wal-Mart that lasted over five years. This product has lasted a mere five months. Rarely used, it often sticks, overheats after only a few uses, and then ceases to work at all.
I had hoped a sharpener of better quality would last longer, especially considering it isn't even used very often. It would seem I was mistaken. Customer Rating: Summary: sharp product Comment: This products is very handy. I dont use it very often, because i tend to sharp my pencils once a month or so. For that use, the product is perfect. The case is all black and totally discrete (perfect for that clean design you are loking for your desk).
